Go behind the gates at one of San Diego's most desired birding locations.
This is a 5 mile walk (roundtrip) on level ground, focused on winter shorebirds and waterfowl present within the San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge and SoCal Saltworks. A single porta potty will be onsite. 8am-1230p (meet on-site).

Carpooling is strongly encouraged just to reduce traffic. Please park on the east side of the road here https://maps.app.goo.gl/mEFQY5rRmgFQTVJ27. Because this is an operational work day for the Saltworks, they have asked that we not enter the facility going through gate to the west or block any of the roads for trucks.
